The membership year runs from May 1 - April 30. New members joining after October 31 will pay one half the yearly membership rate. This option is available to new members only, renewing members must pay the full year rate.
Membership Categories & Fees
Registered Professional - $300.00
Applicant must have a degree or diploma in Recreation Therapy, Recreation or related fields of study. (As of October 5, 2002, the only degree
accepted under "related fields of study" is a Degree in Adapted Physical Education.)

All Professional Members must fulfill yearly Continuing Education Units. More information about the
requirements is available in our Members Area.
Para-Professional Membership
This membership category is no longer available.
In preparation for our application to the Health Professions Act, ATRA
membership voted to discontinue Para-Professional membership at the 2007 Annual
General Meeting.
Student Membership - $50.00
Applicant must be a full time (3 or more courses) student who is enrolled in a degree or diploma program in Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation or related fields.
Supporting Membership - $50.00
Applicant must be an individual who is interested in furthering the objectives of ATRA and the Therapeutic Recreation profession, but who is ineligible to be a Professional, Paraprofessional or Student member. This also includes an individual who is eligible to to be a professional or paraprofessional member but who has either retired from the Therapeutic Recreation profession or has moved out of the province of Alberta.
CTRA Membership Additional Fee:
50.00 for Professionals / 25.00 for Students
If you wish to also become a member in the Canadian Therapeutic Recreation
Association, the additional fee can be added to your ATRA membership fee. We
will remit the fees on your behalf and you will receive a separate membership
package from CTRA. Please note, you must be an ATRA member in order to have
membership in the national association.
